Poor Oreo Puddin had dental surgery today. The original estimate that we received for his neuter and dental cleaning with 4 extractions was $682. When they did the procedure today, the vet said his mouth was horrific! Many of Oreo's teeth were all rotten and being held together and in place by tartar/calculus. He ended up extracting 12 teeth for a final bill of $851 (the initial vetting appointment was $173 for a grand total of $1,024).

Becaus Oreo's mouth was so bad, the vet sent him home with not only antibiotics, but also an oral spray to help keep infection down. He needs to be on soft food for at least 6 to 7 days. Luckily, the molars in the back of the mouth are ok. His bloodwork showed some concerns about his platelet count so the vet is recommending an 81mg baby aspirin once every other day to help prevent clotting. While our sweet boy has had a rough day, hopefully he will be feeling much better once he recouperates. We are praying that he doesn't suffer any setbacks from the surgery.

Sweet Oreo Puddin came to our Rescue after having found running the streets. This big guy is believed to be approxiamtely 8 years old. His Foster Mommy says that he loves attenion, belly rubs and to go for walks.
